Saber tragically died Monday, July 5, 1999.

He was ill in Lake Placid and never shook the toxic effects.

He slipped away while trusted hands stood idle.

At his last show in Upperville Saber took a Third in the jumper division and a Second in the Get of Sire...in true Saber fashion.

Versatility.

Grande Saber 10 yr old Westphalian Stallion by Grundstein out of the approved mare Can't Act by TV Commercial 1989-1999.

I have a huge hole in my heart for my very special Saber.

Always the Gentleman, the Sire, the Champion.

He was beloved beyond words.

We serviced mares with his full brother...Grandeur....the day after he died. Saber's many fine young horses, Grandeur and GQ continued the GRANDE SABER legacy at Tellwynd.

NEGLIGENT in the DEATH of Grande Saber

The Unanimous Jury Verdict after a 21/2 week civil trial before the presiding judge, the Honorable Anne E. Thompson, of Federal Court of New Jersey. October 2003 Action Number 00-6258 (AET) (United States District Court of New Jersey)

The verdict is a landmark ruling in Care, Custody and Control issues regarding trainer responsibility. Please contact me for information. Congratulations to Carole King Boyd for her wisdom and courage in this "David vs. Goliath" case.

Unfortunately, to my knowledge, there was no "press" regarding this ruling .

All horses taken prior to June 2004 were co - owned and not legally conveyed at the time of possession. The persons taking possession of the horses had access to visit this site to reference pictures and information. None who benefited from this situation had the decency to contact me.

Despite my efforts to regain ownership or make some agreement.....I lost these horses I bred or imported. These mares that I had shown,presented to the breed inspections to Premium and Ster and spent many spring nights year after year birthing babies and ALL had PREMIUM foals by Grande Saber. All lost to...." Breeders and Horseman" in New Jersey and Michigan.
